Congratulations to Chris Mitchell for reaching this years All England Champtionship at Leamington.

Eight players from over Wiltshire came to play their Quarter and Semi-Finals at Purton Bowls Club on Saturday 12 June. We were very excited to have one of our own players Chris Mitchell reaching the quarter finals and wished her well for the day.

Well what can we say, Chris was drawn against R Canham from Amesbury and it wasn't long before Chris had overwhelmed her opponent after beating her 21 - 6 in the morning. Chris was then drawn againsted Lucy Smith in her Semi-Final in the afternoon . Chris had what we call a stonker of a game, it was a close game all the way through with Chris trailing 16 - 20 and game down as Lucy was holding the 1 shot, when Chris bowled her last wood and trailed the jack back for 3 shots which made the score 19 - 20, we were all getting excited now as it was anyone's game. The last end was as dramatic as the end before, Chris appeared to be holding 2 shots for the game, when she slightly over ran her wood and moving the jack a few inches, we all gasped as it looked like she had given away the game. Lucy bowled her last wood but sadly ran through the head leaving Chris holding 2 for the WIN. Well done Chris.

Chris will now play Katie Smith in the Wiltshire County Final at Wroughton on 7th August.
